Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Before I discovered GoComics, I read “Daddy’s Home” on ArcaMax, but stopped going there because of all the ads that would freeze up my screen.@x_TechI don’t know whether your remark is funnier if you meant to say"pretty" pictures, or if “petty” was intentional, but I love it!
Meanwhile …Daddy’s Home isn’t in any papers around here that I know of…. though I do read whatever comics are in any paper I get hold of.
I like to read printed comics, and I know that’s how cartoonists get paid, which I’d like to support…but I’d miss the forums if I didn’t read them online.
The newspapers are dying…. my local one is so small and flimsy it’s a 20 minute read, and is now 75 cents, when it was 25 cents in about 2009.
They concentrate on news… but the news is fresher online…. and eliminate comics to save money, which makes me even less likely to buy it.
Put in MORE comics, and QR-codes or bar codes to reach forums…. then I’ll probably buy more papers….Or an online subscription, if it includes all the comics, which now it doesn’t.
In the future, though, I know that one way or the other, they’ll need to monetise online publication…we’re enjoying a free or very cheap ride but only while printed newspapers earn enough to pay the syndicates, who pay the artists. And I’m not helping much.
Nonetheless, I don’t have much money, so I’m glad I can come here.. . And Pro gets me no ads… I can’t believe people complain about 3 cents a day.
I can ONLY read it here. I live in a really small town in a geographically isolated area of the country. We don’t even get newspapers from bigger cities in the state brought in here to buy. But hey, very little crime, fresh air, deer, elk, and antelope play all day.
As many of the others have said, I can only get DH here. We get our local paper online, but we have to pay for it. I don’t like it, but it beats having to pull it out of the ditch three days a week. None of the comics I read here are available in the paper; they have a lot of good ones, but they also have a couple of real stinkers.
I only read comics on my desktop PC at home, although when I worked, it was a way to unwind (and keep others from bothering me) while I scarfed down my lunch.
I bought the local newspaper while I still had a bird, but that’s mostly all it was good for (I did not agree with their politics and they had very few comics- just now and then a good column on gardening or such).
There is one alternate paper here, and I’ve noticed copies of it at my new man’s house; does not surprise me because he has radios on NPR all the time. I’ve mostly just read even that one online because it’s more difficult to find (I understand some places give it free, perhaps he gets it there- (he’s as thrifty as I am).
Oh, and after my last layoff, I DID follow some newspaper ads for employment, but most engineering was civil or structural and I was already 67, so difficult to start in a new field. Before that, I never had problems finding work.
Only read it here, Tony, our local paper doesn’t carry it, they mostly have King Features strips in the local. Same ones they’ve had for YEARS! I just read them in my Daily Ink queue.
My local paper has many good comics, but DH sadly is not one of them. If they get rid of too many more of my favorites, I’ll have to drop the paper. Their past changes were what brought me here to begin with.

Where do you read “Daddy’s Home,” besides here, if anywhere else?

X … do let us know whether you decide to respond so I’ll know how to reply, OK?
Or just pick one:
A. “Oh X that’s so funny!”
B. “Oh X that’s so funny! "

Just here. Had never heard of Daddy’s Home – or most of the comics we read here – till I discovered GoComics.

maybe he can snag one of those hi-tech telegraph-operator positions that the arrival of the railroad will bring with it
