I thought she was putting salt (or borax?) or something into an ant hill. But there isn’t any hill. Gophers it probably is. She wouldn’t be patting the soil with her bare hands if she had put anything injurious to human beings in there.
All this has made me think of mole crickets. Back when I did things out in the yard, we in Florida battled them because they played havoc with lawns. I haven’t thought of them for years, but I intuit that they’re still around. To see some of these darlings, google-image mole crickets
This is the last thing I’m going to say today, pinkie swear. I thought Pajama Diaries was unusually gigglesome today. See it at http://www.seattlepi.com/comics-and-games/fun/
I do my gardening at the supermarket. Less work. More variety. Doesn’t take up as much space. Cheaper (the most expensive tomatoes I ever ate were the ones I grew myself). And no chiropractor bills.
well, this part of the world I am has pretty mild winters – NO SNOW!!! and even though it is ‘Autumn’ here now it is still 24c (75f). It rarely gets below 8 or 9c (45-46f) and we seldom have frosts. Bit different to Penn!

This is the best part anticipation. The worst part is seeing it die because of animal, insect, or disease.

Sorry I broke my pinkie swear. The preferred spelling is “pinky,” however, so maybe what I put doesn’t count.
