Racing fans—is it okay for a hefty gentleman such as Tabby to ride a racehorse? I know that in the actual races, you want the lightest rider you can get.
As far as we saw, Angus didn’t even ask for water for his horse, but Montana Joe offered it anyway. Maybe he asked between yesterday’s strip and today’s.
It’s amazing that Angus could live “just over the hill” from the radio station and Montana Joe didn’t know where Angus lived. I suppose that Joe doesn’t own the station though, so I guess that’s fine.
I agree with all those who have said that this is a great story with clever plot twists, real detective work and Gouldian coincidences. However, since Mike has already announced that the Annie crossover story begins June 1 (davidf42 over at the Annie strip has actually started a countdown), I fear we may be in for another rushed ending.
Mike’s stories rarely have distinct beginnings or endings. Instead, like happens in real-life police work, the cases may overlap and flow into each other.
I don’t expect the Annie arc to have a clean beginning on June 1st. I believe the actual arc began months ago when we first saw Warbucks in the strip. Since then other cases have taken Tracy’s attention but throughout them we have seen glimpses of Warbucks, Asp, and Punjab to lay the foundation for what is to come. Meanwhile, Tracy’s other cases were ongoing.
In June, the Annie story will take Tracy’s focus. That does not mean investigation into any unsolved cases has stopped, it simply means that those cases are not the main focus of the storyline.
Tracy, like real police detectives, does not have to wrap up one case before taking another. Most detectives work on several cases at once.

Montana Joe, still have any spice left in that chicken wing?

Angus is the “nice Angus” when he’s around his horses, it’s the people in his life he doesn’t have any ’nice" for!

Good story! I wonder if that horse is really Sparkplug, though. He has a better reason to hide Nightmare. Note that Montana Joe knows rodeo stock.

Methinks the ladies may find Montana either expired or in a world of hurt. And it won’t be Sparkplugs doing.

Does anyone else find it odd to see Angus wearing a suit while riding his horse?

Seven hours & there were only ten comments at that point? There is a certain zip missing from the posts…

This must be a really small town Tracy lives in. All these villains keep running into his family members.

We also know what Joe Montana’s been up to since retiring from the NFL. : )
