Frank and Ernest by Thaves for July 06, 2014
Transcript:
London Man: There's a scurrilous political cartoon in the newspaper from the colonies again, your majesty! King: Another Yankee doodle, eh? Back In The Colonies Frank: "When in the course of human events...we hold these truths to be self-evident...unalienable rights..." Wow! This is great writing, Tom! Don't Worry Be Happy Frank: I know the Declaration of Independence says "The Pursuit of Happiness", Betsy, but the flag should be dignified. Maybe stars and stripes or something. Frank: Why are "Saturday Evening Post" subscription cards all over the place?! -- We're here to sign the declaration, Ben!

An early typo……….. that should be “beginnings”……..

Ben, I know you liked “Pennsylvania Gazette” for a title but you needed to think beyond a small town paper name………… something that lends itself to a more expansive news operation………. besides it takes all week to gather enough popular stories to make it worthwhile for Sunday entertainment reading………….

Uhhhh…I am ranking “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” right up there with “It’s A Small World After All”.Now I can’t get these damn songs out of my head…

This reminds me, I need to look something up after reading the comics. I got to thinking about Senators and such, and wondered how many of the founding fathers were lawyers before they were founding fathers. Was America founded by people with, say common sense, or did the wisdom of the 1700’s arise from the minds of legal folk? Just curious.

I suppose “Come and take it” was more in dignity than “Come and be Happy”
