HEY! I am from Cleveland! And yes, the teams there smell almost as bad as the Lake. But that doesn’t mean we don’t know talent. We just don’t have any. Anyway, in a recent poll the vast majority of fans in CLE didn’t want Manziel. We would rather see him in Pittsburgh. (Sorry Chuck Noll, wherever you are.)
I’m awed at the great job the NFL has done in keeping itself in the spotlight even when other sports are supposedly having their “seasons.” To the NFL, it’s a twelve-month season, only one part is hype and the other part is active.
Or LeBron. Before him was Tebow. The excessive slobbering over some athletes by a certain four letter sports network is beyond descriptive. Sadly, it will continue to happen and will only stop when enough viewers say ENOUGH!
Baseball is the only one I follow at all. And for those who don’t, the Trout kid in LA is the real deal. Just saw him for the first time against ATL, most impressive player in the game. Hits like Williams, fields like DiMaggio, runs like Mays. And supposed to be a good guy too.
I like Trout…all the talent in the world and he plays as though he RESPECTS baseball. Not enough of them do. Harper’s got lots of talent, too, but he’s all about himself and not the game. Big difference.
I’d say Tank’s knowledge of geography is limited to the United States and Canada, but he did refer to the IIHF championships in Minsk a few weeks ago.
I’m enjoying the World Cup, but as for Tank’s story — well, I’d rather have a story about the hats at the Royal Ascot races than yet another Manziel story. (If you didn’t check the silly hats out yesterday, you’re missing a lot!)
