I don’t remember my pupils being that dilated a few years after high school when I officially wore glasses (though I was first prescribed in fifth grade).
wish glasses and vision insurance was cheaper(cost effective). come on scientists, find that gene that cures vision problems. or, the very least, augment our vision.
Many years ago I had my eyes dilated like this at an optometrist in Bangor, Maine. When I stumbled back into the waiting room, there was Stephen King sitting there. He just stared at me. I must have looked like something out of one of his horror movies.
I’m very short sighted, been wearing glasses for ages-must be 36 years (since I was 5). What’s strange, though is that I passed the physical in infantry to get a rifle, AND the physical to drive an armored fighting vehicle (like a tank but much smaller, weighs only 15 tons. Talking about recruit shortage!
First time I ever got dilated by an ophthalmologist, I went to an optician to get my prescription filled and he said something akin to George Carlin’s old stoned pharmacist: “Better come back in about an hour, man. I can’t even read the b@st@rd.” Last month and about 45 years later, I had another ophthalmologist dilate my eyes; their house optician had no trouble reading the pupils, even while dilated. Technology has improved a lot over the years.

In what universe would a child’s best friend take him to the optometrist. Where are Henry’s parents?

I think so Zack. Looks like Henri Lee’s trying to take your glasses off.

I’m lightly near-sighted. With my eyes dilated my vision is nearly perfect.
