For a large percentage of the world, soccer is the real football. It’s a lot easier to understand—you can figure it all out just by watching. I never did “get” American football, and I grew up there.
@blunebottle I originally drew it with a crying hockey puck with the other balls, but there just wasn’t enough room. The lacrosse ball and dodgeball haven’t been invited out with the other balls for years.
As a child I enjoyed playing soccer in gym class or at summer camp but have never taken it seriously as a pro spectator sport. These days with AYSO rivaling little league baseball and Pop Warner football, the popularity of pro soccer may be growing in USA but I doubt it’ll ever catch up to MLB, NFL, NBA or NHL in the USA. ☺
I agree that this my sport versus your sport stuff is very unsportsmanlike, but don’t blame the poor Neandertals. They were a bunch of gentlemen compared with the thugs who have international riots over soccer….
Never got into any sports where the scores get stupidly hight, probably while I like ice hockey and the original football (ie soccer).
As for American football, far to any timeouts, also being a kiwi (NZ not the fruit), I prefer rugby where there’s less padding, and the games takes only the 80 minutes it’s suppose to.
