IJB: I like “‘Im-Prop-Tu Speech.’” LOL! ;)

I have a faint recollection of a song from the late 50s or early 60s, which had a line that went something like, “over the threshold into that land of love.” Can anyone identify it?
wrwallaceii over 10 years ago
Wow, Like a Benny Hill skit from days of yore… I believe the next line is “please lady cover up that face”.

Well, we’ve been told repeatedly that Quill! is interested only in inner beauty. (Yeah, in the case of Luann, that’s the self-absorbed, whiney, clingy part.)
Angelalex242 over 10 years ago
Well, at least they’re just messing with props and costumes instead of messing around. Quill is admittedly good at making stuff fun.

I think the only point of today’s strip is for us to imagine them in the prop room, changing their clothes together.
jemgirl81 over 10 years ago
Corny! LOL

Upon close examination, there are two couches in the background!
flowergirl19 over 10 years ago
Wouldn’t it be funny if Luann put on a pig’s snout?

This was a waste of 2 minutes.

Re: time changing clothes…did not think of That! Was just focusing on the silly nose disguise… ;)

“… the most scientific thing I have ever seen Luann say.” ^Technically precise! Especially with the word balloons!

“How would we be able to tell?”
Right? I guess it would have to be a really big one!
ORMouseworks over 10 years ago
Did she really? (want to be a Thermo. Astro.) Oh, gosh, I do that all the time…believe something that sounds absolutely dumb! But…did she Really say that?! LOL =-O
melmarsh9v over 10 years ago
The question may be posed as to whether they watched each other change clothes. Were they modest and undressed and dressed with the light off?
ORMouseworks over 10 years ago
Are they doing a spoof on “Romeo and Juliet?” Still fail to see the connection with the really dumb nose prop… ;)

You guys are overanalyzing this. I think it’s cute.

I was going to say this differently, but then I got to thinking I was courting the wrath of the GoComics moderator…soooo, I’ll just say I’m here and then there… ‘Nite all!-—————————————————————————-"’Tis strange, but true; for truth is always strange; Stranger than fiction." (Lord Byron, 1788-1824)

Wow! I would have never guessed Luann would say such a thing…maybe she was trying to get others to see that she is not just a lovelorn teenager but someone who has more substance! ;)

“A month ago I couldn’t even spell thurmoedinamix asstrafisisysst, and now I am one!”
doverdan over 10 years ago
Neither is wearing all of the same clothing he/she was wearing before entering the prop room. Sleeves and collars show that. .So it’s a costume party — of sorts.
doverdan over 10 years ago
… before bed … ???
kenhense over 10 years ago
They could have a lot of fun dressing and undressing each other…
doverdan over 10 years ago
I guess I’ve figured out that the dreams (of her beauty) were supposedly caused by a priorly eaten (imaginary?) burrito..So the “before bed” comment does not reflect some future plan.,Tomorrow I suppose they will be seen in another set of costumes. .Quill as a pirate?
Caldonia over 10 years ago
Just try making out in a couple of those metal horse costumes from “Equus”!
Skylark over 10 years ago
Well..I think it’s sweet!
Sisyphos over 10 years ago
Apparently, at the Moony U. drama department, the Props room also serves as the Costume Shop. Either that, or we must imagine an interval between yesterday’s strip and today’s in which Quill and Luann change into costumes in another room and then come back to Props for their little rôle-playing foreplay….
charne over 10 years ago
Just find a room, you two. Already.
beggar over 10 years ago
Clearly you folks are missing the key words: “Thou shouldn’t eat a burrito BEFORE BED.” Any fooling around was interrupted by Quill flatulence.
ErrorMessage over 10 years ago
I love that these two like to play together. It is something that could actually support a life-long relationship.

I’m happy to see them fooling around instead of fooling around! Maybe they can enjoy both better!
thebigboot over 10 years ago
Yeah, great way to start the job for Quill. Screwing around in the prop room with his girlfriend.
TORAD_07 over 10 years ago
And the dance begins…
Dance….yes…. But to what music? And to what End?
I dunno folks. I got a different impression here. It could very well be that they are leading up to the “fligrante delicto,” only to face “Luannus Interruptus” by whatever mechanism. Or… It could also be how Lu is choosing to end the relationship with Quill… that clown mask being rather ominous, it seemed, on first look. Lu knows she’ll be entering Pitts CC, so maybe she’s trying to get things in order by bringing Q down gracefully.
But anything can happen…. it’s only Tues. We’ll see.
Davison77 over 10 years ago
So they went in there, took off their clothes, did the deed, and put on weird clothes because of their guilt.
dr_dolittle_rwc over 10 years ago
Such is the degraded mind! Here is clearly a family comic for nearly 30 years, and all you can think about is when are the teenagers going to have sex before marriage and why can’t we see it?! Sad!
thebigboot over 10 years ago
Oh god, if this is Evan’s way of getting her into Moony I’m going to lose it. Think about it, teacher walks in on them acting, thinks Luann is super special snowflake and invites her into the drama program.
Hugh Manatee over 10 years ago
Can’t we just have them coming back out the door with rumpled clothes and hair?
seismic-2 Premium Member over 10 years ago
Perhaps bringing Luann and Quill! together this summer will in fact serve to make them realize that their relationship should end. Quill will get more and more strongly dedicated to the drama department and preparing for the upcoming academic year, and Luann will be unable to keep him concentrating on the “prop room” 100% of his time, which is what she wants. By September she may be interested in telling Quill! “See you during Christmas break!” and then checking out just who all is attending Pitt CC this fall.

Biiiiiiiiiig Freaking DEAL.
By the way, Lu. Did’cha Know that Gunther Made THAT Dress???

Mayor Snorkum over 10 years ago
And here we thought Luann and Quill were going into the prop room to do a little “he-in’ and she-in,’” but apparently all they’re going to do is try on funny costumes. Usually, this is a prelude to the “he-in’ and she-in,” but not here. They’ll put their street clothes back on and go about their business. How sad.
karanne over 10 years ago
Me, I just like her dress …
locake over 10 years ago
I can believe that two teenagers would take their clothes off in the prop room, but NOT that they would spend any time playing dress up and putting on other clothes.
MadYank over 10 years ago
If anyone here really thinks Lu is going that far, you really need a brain-cleaning.Quill, OTOH, being a normal, healthy all-American/All-Aussie teen-age GUY – he’s ready to dive in and go for it in a New York SECOND!But not Luann – although she’ll go right up to the EDGE…

bama1fan92 over 10 years ago
this strip really bites compared to the original that had a cast that had ordinary problems and lives that we all could identify with.
ACTIVIST1234 over 10 years ago
Love it!1) Obviously, they dressed separately, not together2) Lu is playing a joke on Qu, rather than trying to seduce him outright!

I have to admit that I sort of got carried away In LaC, but certain people need to know how some other people feel…especially when words that were not said were thrown back in a most disrespectful way. Can’t Believe how Irritated I was…took me awhile to unwind. I noticed LA didn’t have a comeback, either. Whatever, I could care less, which is the bottom line. Sorry to have wandered, I’m ready to figure out what exactly is going on with L & Q! Still haven’t figured out the last panel…but I’ve read everyone’s comments. However, I am still not sure what was going on LOL! I am hoping tonight Greg answers the questions that we all have! ;)
