@howtheduck (in response to yesterdays comments), ah, so it’s more"politically correct" changes it seems. I know at one point, the context changed to “shania Twain” for a comment John made, and I figured, that was to update a media figure, since the old one might not be recognizable… and spanking in Canada is NOT illegal, as long as it’s reasonable force to discipline a chile… anything after that is taken to court and left to a judge.
Lynn’s Notes:When we moved to the North Bay area, people confused it with Thunder Bay. I was hoping that readers would go to a map and see where Thunder Bay is — and they did! The next time you see a beautiful piece of amethyst, such as crystals in a large geode, it might have come from this area. Aside from its nice hotels and good restaurants (something to look forward to when you travel the trans Canada highway) Thunder Bay is famous for its amethyst.
I would be interested to see your source for Connie’s “original” background. I’ve been reading this strip and haunting Lynn’s website for many years and never heard it before.
Also, in reference to your comment about Lynn’s not updating anything in quite a while, see my comment from yesterday. On August 11, when one of the strips about Jean’s daughter was printed, even you commented on the change.
According to her bio at the FBOFW website, Connie grew up in a small town in Quebec and met Elly at university in Toronto. And her mother was widowed by the time Lawrence was born.

Not exactly the best way to grow up, Connie, because your minor son is also involved! ;)

Yeah, it is terrifying. But you make your own mistakes and learn to live through them.

Wow – a big, fold-up road map. That almost qualifies for the “Pluggers” strip.

Connie reminds me of the “heroine” in “Alice doesn’t live here anymore.” 1974

Spanking is illegal in Canada — so the Red Sox could have been prosecuted following that 13-0 tookas-kicking at the Rogers Centre in April 2013?
