; ) Annie’s pretty quiet for someone who was born in Gossipton, a suburb of the Twin Cities of Chatter and Jaw… They can’t tell her anything, because she might let the cat out of the bag.
That’s right Annie, give them a taste of their own their own medicine. Great secret cat meeting pictures today! And the bunny meeting too. I,too, sign the get well card for Linda. Hope you are feeling better today. Look forward to your return.
I’ve been reading (and enjoying!) Ten Cats for ages now and I love reading everyone’s comments and seeing the great cat photos. I have two cats of my own, both male and both black, Big Man and Bucky. They might be related, we’re not sure, but they couldn’t be more different. Big Man just turned up in our backyard in September of 2008 and Bucky showed up as a kitten two days before Christmas 2011. I live with my husband in Birmingham England, but I’m originally from Boston Ma, where we were married in September of 1997. I would also like to add my get well wishes to Linda. She’s such a valued presence on this thread, as are the rest of you!
I had a strange thing happen last nite while I was posting. When I was looking at get well cards, twice, after picking out one, I noticed on the left it mentioned ten cats. When I clicked on the page it referred to one I had used on ten cats before! In January and again in April. I’m on Google Images? Then it happened with 2 pics too! I’m famous!Or I post too many pics! LOL
runningstag: welcome. I, too, have been reading and enjoying everyones’s messages and pics. Everyone really cares about each other here. I just started posting last month and was having major problems “getting it” until someone helped me step by step.
And that is the orphan that the grey babies mama took in and nursed. All are 11 weeks old now and got fixed and shots on Tues. They are all going to PetCo for adoption next Friday. All of the Siamese kittens except one have gone to their new forever homes. I got mail from the people and they just adore their new babies. I can’t wait for the last one, the little girl, to go tomorrow! She wants to be held and carried around constantly. Which is exactly the thing the new dad was looking for.
Oh, and these all knew how to use the littler box – I was thrilled! I never want to go thru that experience again. I will if I have to, but don’t want to.
Thank you everyone for your kind welcomes. I love seeing all the photos of the cats and kittens you are all caring for and fostering. Yes, I’m a female (my name’s Mary) and I do like life in the UK, but I go back to Boston about 4 times a year to visit family and friends. My husband Chris didn’t have any pets before we were married, and I brought my cat, Babe, over with me. He very quickly became a ‘cat guy’ and she thought he was great. She lived to be 15, we had her here with us for 10 years, and a year after she passed Big Man came into our lives. He’s the most affectionate cat you’d ever want to meet!
Queen of America, I had a grey boy named Simon, a wonderfully loving and gentle cat. He was born in our backyard in Boston in 1983 and we kept him and his brothers Tuffy and Fuzzy, along with their mother, Bub. He lived to be almost 17!
To answer some of your questions: I do a little fostering for our local shelter. Not just kittens, but when an adult has been there for over 3 weeks, I bring them here so it will have more room to run and play and keep from getting “unsocialized”. The lady I do most of my fostering for is not any official organization- she’s just a diehard animal person. If you do a web search for Susan Barrett, Cat Lady of Hurricane UT, some articles will probably pop up. Brad and I also make runs up to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab to pick up food, deliver injured animals or birds or pick something up that needs to come back after they took care of surgery or something. Last year another foster mom and I did a quick round trip to Boulder CO to take 22 kittens because we were so overloaded and they kindly took them from us. That was quite an experience!. This woman bought a van and had it converted to the Meowmobile. There are 12 built in beds, water and food dishes, an extra a/c unit in the back and a place for a big plastic bin that serves as a litter box. No kitty had to be confined to a cage or carrier. There is a space between the front seats and the bed area where she keeps her cooler, litter, etc. It has a door that leads to the back kitty area.
runningstag: we have a big grey boy, Moose. I brought him home from the shelter 3 yrs ago so he could run around. We kept him. The following month, I brought home a skinny black male for the same reason. Brad would not let me take them to PetCo for adoption. They were his.
Looks like we all have some great cat tales to tell. When I have more time, I will tell you all mine. Some have been told, but not to runningstag and Queen of America.
I must send my pics TO MY BUDDY HAPPY who so kindly offered some time ago to post my latest batch!
runningstag/Mary you need AN AVATAR! Someone, GWEEDO, ELDO, etc tell her how to do so! I could, but my instructions are as clear as mud! LOL! I know what to do, just not how to give instructions.
Linda, I hope your lungs get clear and you get out of the hospital soon. Just as I am feeling that I am going to live, :), I hate to hear of someone else with pneumonia. BTW any chance you have LYME? It is linked to pneumonia. Anyway, I wanted to say that yesterday’s Ten Cats reminded me of one of the e reader books of Ten Cats and a wonderful strip where a bird flies into the window and supposedly dies. The cats are having a funeral for it when I gets up and walks away. One of my all time favorite Ten Cats. Love all of you and will try not to miss any more excitement.
