With the high school football season near, you would think he would be trying to win a job and learn the plays for some school long before this. Suppose he chooses Milford and doesn’t win the QB job? Interesting story line in that case.
You seem to be forgetting something: in Milford, it is still on May or early June at the latest. There is probably 8-10 weeks before football practice actually starts in the Valley.
“I don’t want to run down another program…..but Milford sucks.” So, did Art and Tru(e) ask his opinion, or did he just volunteer this out of the blue? Any discussion should be limited to the benefits of Jefferson HS only, or this coach is as big a douche as Art.
No way does Tru(e) wind up anywhere but Milford. There is no plot (yeah, yeah, I know) if he is at another school.
P3 seems like a story-ending panel, though clearly we’re stuck with True all summer (at least). The last panel of last ever Calvin and Hobbes: “Let’s go exploring”.
For longtime Gil Thorp fans, a recruiting visit to Oakwood High and Coach Tod Andrews is required. Would love a storyline of Tru suiting up for Oakwood with the ’Larks and Oaks battling it out for the Valley Conference crown.

I don’t want to run down another comic strip, but Rubin and Whigham are paid professionals and MUT waxes them everyday.

Gil will use Mimi as True’s persuader. One True gets a look at her he will quickly give up football and begin his career as a poolside cabana boy.

Hmmmm….has Dr. Wally Lamb been selling True his special “nutritional supplements”?

In all reality, from the looks of True and the Milford players nobody is on the juice.

At least MUT isn’t as tedious as the real thing.
