You have the right to remain silent. Now let’s get you cleaned and dressed. Smoking, Baking or Roasting? Wait ’til Sarah discovers she is renting those carriers by the hour.

Any chance we’ll see Piotr and the Wolf? I think I know where a Wolfpack is,about to be on the hunt. Nah, I read that Komodo Dragons have really tough hides, and a nasty tasting goo between the hide and the meat. While we try to figure out if Sarah is leaving, or simply has no place to sleep except the sewers with Holly and Jim, please vote. I guess Wally is writing “I will not attack my Reptilian Overlords” ten thousand times while awaiting his hearing, trial, convictions and punishment. Anyone else crash Veteran’s party over at Ballard Street Wednesday? They may still have leftover cakes, cupcakes, barbecue and other goodies. I haven’t seen Veteran since, he may be having a sugar hangover, and I think they got him virtual sweaters for his dogs. The Links:

those lizards think themselves superior, but they are not nearly as human. The one redeeming quality of humans is the ability to empathize and feel compassion.Anyone lacking these qualities is either a psychopath or sociopath. Mentally ill or challenged as for being human.I by some mistake got the time of taking off their suits. Sarah’s legs were much shorter than her arms, and she was just over a head taller than Wally and Jim.Maybe her mutation didn’t all happen at once. Now Jim being carried in a cat or dog crate. I really have been missing seeing Wally and Holly. So seeing Jim and Holly was a rare treat!

“In sameness there is strength” The decision of the lizards to band together is smart. But not embracing diversity is dumb.No matter how these humans have changed physically, they still bring the same old bigotry and insular societies with them.I hate to think, but maybe they are onto something. Endtown’s diversity did not deem to be very useful in the long run since things sort of boiled over into chaos.Religion is a prima facie example of this inability to even agree on anything beyond a few core beliefs and even those rest upon the shaky foundation of how one is to interpret them.Diversity should be embraced and celebrated, but the physical differences between most mutants only seems to exacerbate the underlying problem. It’s becoming clear, that racism has become “species-ism” in this brave new era. Will our humanity become lost in the chaos? Schism’s aside folks. What defines our humanity?Do we embrace all our faults along with our assets?Or do we cast out our faults and foilbles in an effort to evolve as a society. What we believe deep down inside is what defines us individually.Being human means accepting everything about yourself, even our faults. The dichotomy of our nature is natural to our condition. It has evolved with us and will continue to do so.We just have to live with it and hope we can change before our world ends up like the one in Mr. Neathery’s twisted tales of the wasteland.Honestly, it does not look too good for humanity lately.

According to Mr. Pepper, this is all an act intended to make all non lizards feel unwelcome. That may be the official line though I suspect that many reptilians go beyond that and actually believe that they are superior and that non reptilians are merely animals. While I understand the logic of a single species colonies, such thinking is limiting. Everybody in this colony will have the same strengths, the same weaknesses and the same blind spots. If they even need someone who can work in tight spaces they will need to turn to an outsider. While Endtown has its problems, they have access to individuals with a wide range of abilities including Gustine’s strength, Prof. Mallard’s brilliance and (in the past) Holly’s speed. The unity of “one in body” is limiting.

Yeah, still not convinced this lizard society is “better” in any sense of the word. In fact, at the rate they’re going, they’re only MARGINALLY better than the Topsiders.

Unless you’re a reptilian, the only right you’ll ever have is the right to remain silent.

Just catching up after Anthrocon… Looks like I was right about it all being theater, except that the actors have been playing their roles so long they’re coming to believe them. It might be intentional, as in Shyamalan’s Village. They’re trying to hide from the outside “monsters”, but they’re really the monsters dressed up in the costumes of their made-up society.

They really need to get out of this whole place. But I don’t see Ms. Battle going with them.

Likely, no one is going to read this. It’s already two days later, and Aaron won’t post a new Endtown until Monday..I like Bruno Zeigerts‘s comment. It is the subject at hand..What are these creatures? Even if they have “mutated” into Hanna-Barberra anthropomorphic animals, the premise of this strip is each and every one of these creatures started out as a human being..Other commentators have noted, and I have been mentioning all this week, the problem that, as animals, these creatures have managed to keep all their bad human habits, all the while, accumulating the bad habits of the animals they have become..And the ones who remained “human,” the “topsiders,” are always mentioned as the perennial bad guys of this strip..Now, this is supposed to be a post-World War III saga. It is not meant to be a happy romp through the woods. But it does seem as if this story has become overly grim. So far, I have not seen much “hope” for any kind of happy outcome for any of these characters..Back to the story: Sarah Battle is bitter. A plausible explanation for her bitterness was offered the other day, about their entrapment, kidnapping, kangaroo trial, and the treatment of her companions..Arguing against that explanation were several incidents of Sarah appearing aloof from her travelling companions. But that appears to have disappeared now that Piotr has been making her an offer he figures she ought not to refuse..Other commentators this week have strongly suggested that the original Endtown community has degenerated to the point where our companions felt the need to leave. So, news to me, what is now referred to as “Lizardville,” is not the original Endtown. (Remember, I have not been with this strip since the beginning). My final thoughts for now: These underworld colonies seem to have become such undesirable places, perhaps it’s time for some brave animals to see whether they can reason with those “topsiders.”.Life underground does not appear to be doing anybody any favors.
