When my father was alive, he used to take his grandkids out to lunch occasionally. My parent’s refrigerator door was full of McDonald’s ketchup packets. Didn’t matter that they had a perfectly fine bottle of ketchup in the cabinet. I guess he thought he was getting away with something.

I’m guessing that Rose got permission from the restaurant to take them with her, and Ruthie didn’t know.

We used to do that with left over rolls, but then I stopped getting rolls. Ruthie calm down Grandma is fine.

Did Grandma pay for lunch? If the rolls were on the table, they are hers. If she left them behind, the restaurant would have to throw them away.

Aw, Ruthie is thinking of a most unique police state. And attach the instant death penalty to it and you have a razor’s edge society.

At one of our local restaurants, if you ask for a bag to take home the extras, they will often add in some fresh rolls, too.

If she did take rolls that weren’t just left on their table, she was showing a bad example to Ruthie. I wouldn’t do that in front of a child. But with my husband alone I’ve often taken home packets of Arby’s horsey sauce and a little container of honey mustard from Quizno’s. Well? If they sold jars of this stuff I’d buy it that way but they don’t!
