    That’s the Pluto – Goofy Paradox, probably as old as Disney cartoons themselves. Variations of it are mentioned frequently. For example, in the movie Stand by Me and the Stephen King novel The Body on which the movie was based:

    How about the characters in the strip “Pluggers?” (I love that strip.) They are clearly animals, but they also have pets…guess you shouldn’t over-think a cartoon.
