Before I retired, I was that librarian. The books the kids caught me reading enjoyed a great circulation. I’d let them ‘catch’ me reading a new book and then put a post-it note on the book so they could add their names to the ‘I want to read it’ list. As soon as I finished the book and put it in the library’s system, I’d let the first kid’s teacher know to send them on down to check the book out. Once it returned, I’d let the next kid know it was their turn.
This is not really a serious self-promo, though it might have been in the past. The strip is from 2011, the same year the book was published. I’ve put in a request to my local library to get a copy via ILL (interlibrary loan).

The book is 11 years old. She’s a slow reader.

Very funny book. Better than some of the ‘Timmy Failure’ books by Pastis.
