Sound like just about any of those. Jack falling down and busting his head open. Grasshopper starving to death, an old woman beating her kids and then not feeding them and they all crowded together in a shoe….
This reminds me of when my younger sister was little. My parents bought her a book of nursery rhymes. There were none of the better known ones, like Little Bo Peep, or Jack and Jill. All of these were nursery rhymes I’d never seen before, and haven’t since. I especially remember one, which I think nobody ever read to my sister:

When my grandmother helped me get undressed – pulling my nightie off over my head, etc. – she’d exclaim, “Skin the rabbit!”

There was a little man, who had a little gun
And its bullets were made of lead lead lead
He went out to the pond and he shot a little duck
Right in the middle of its head head head

Most of thoze poems haven’t aged well. I’m surprized they’ve survived as long as they have.

Fairy tales read before bed tend to make dreams, unfortunately Fairy Tales are quite often based on violent stories.
