Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for September 07, 2014
September 06, 2014
September 08, 2014
Transcript:
In June and July, the days are too long!
In December and January, the days are too short!
But in September...
Arlo: The days are just right!
Janis: What on Earth happened to my chair!?
The retro strip today should be the one we Arlo is talking to Ludwig about the football teams, of which all are having bad years, that Ludwig likes. Naturally they are all NFL teams named after felines (Bengals, Lions, etc.) Ludwigâs look is precious.
@codger1944â-No upside down tree. Just a bush with the base of a tree rising behind it. The top is not shown, but you can see 2 branches rising upward in the correct direction.
âIf Arlielocks had lived in Florida in the 1940âs and earlier, he wouldnât have said that about September. In St. Petersburg no one had A/C, save for the occasional movie theater (â20° cooler insideâ) or store (or maybe a rich personâs mansion â I dunno). By September we were thoroughly sick of the heat, and the sun beat down on us at a sizzling angle. Maybe by the end of October, it might start to get a little decent.

Why is there an upside down tree in the last panel?

Is JJ is a Dylan fan? Has gravity failed and Janisâ negativity wonât pull her through. Oh wait, that would mean itâs Eastertime too. Never mind.

I would say in spring and fall the temperature is just right. The hours of daylight can never be long enough.

That is one homely Goldilocks.
