Well, this is just a quick “hi and bye” as I have to get ready to visit my son who lives in an adjacent state. He just “purchased” (rent-to-own) his first house and we are anxious to see it! Bought a few home-warming gifts for him and his family, dishtowels, Beanie Babies, that sort of thing. It is going to be HOT AGAIN, so I am planning to wear my summer stuff (still, yet, and OMG not always ! ;P). Now that Brad and Luann have grown beyond constantly picking on each other, and actually appreciate each other a bit, they might really enjoy this chance to spend some time together. And who say’s he’s “cheapening out”? Since he’s asking her, he’ll probably spring for the lunch or dinner. And when they do get together, I imagine Luann use the opportunity to try to get Brad moving on planning the wedding!

I think that’s a great gift. Especially since Luann’s been kind of lonely these days.

Shannon has really bonded with her new family unit. She is no longer being fobbed off onto a reluctant parent. She has been less scowly and more smiley of late. And I agree that Luann will love her gift.

Actually, a ‘date’ with her brother isnt ‘cheaping out’. We have to remember that even though they are brother and sister, Brad and Luann have essentially moved into different orbits in their lives and probably dont get to talk much these days. A day to rebond as siblings is a terrific idea for those two

He should have taken advice from Toni, not Shannon, on what an 18 year old girl would like. I doubt there is anything Brad and Luann would enjoy doing together all day. Luann likes hanging out with her friends talking about girl stuff.

Shannon’s “play date” suggestion triggered Brad’s wise gift—Luann can have almost any kind of day she wants (except no nail salons) with her big brother! He might find it to be shockingly expensive if Luann chooses something high-end!

At least he was wise enough to clarify ‘no nail salons.’ Not every dude thinks of that.
