Time, Energy, Money… You’ve got to spend one, in order to save the others…. – Though Bern would have done better taking those dishes to a car wash ….she could’ve put the dish rack on the roof of the car, and there’s even a jet dry at the end! – And she can take a shower that way, too- roll down the windows in the car wash, and it becomes a “car pool”!

If Greg Evans wanted Luann to be shown only on the Moony campus rather than the junior college, then why didn’t he have her apply there and get accepted? Maybe the tuition is too steep?

There’s a reason laundry rooms are in the basement-Many newer apartment buildings, condominium, dorms and other multifamily structures are built these days with laundry rooms on multiple floors. Improved building codes help to reduce noise levels.

It’s disappointing to see that Bernice is still beset with ’Dez’s friends coming and going at all hours. If Bernice is about to have a mental breakdown, this constant interruption by people expecting her to babysit pets and questionable bags may have a lot to do with it…

Coffee mug, sauce pot, bowls…. and probably about $7.50…

“…where would she be cooking with these dishes? …”^Uh… hot plate …. or a microwave… a small stove in a community kitchen shared in the main wing of the building could also be possible…

She could also have a sink in her room, but a she just described, she’s living in a blur, so that she could have brought her dishes down with her to do her laundry, in order to save time, while she travels to possibly the “community kitchen” or she could have brought them down by accident…

This isn’t supposed to be a technical manual , here! This is merely a brief gag for a Sunday, and it’s just a joke to enjoy, not a “Political Science” seminar or “Autobiography”!….

Granted I went to college 25 years ago, so some things may have changed, but I know that refrigerators and microwaves are still allowed in dorms. When I was a freshman, I had a fridge, a microwave, and a hot pot. I washed my dishes in the bathroom sink.

Bernice is finding a need to budget her time. Time management is one of the first untaught, sink-or-swim lessons of college life. Luann clearly has too much time on her hands, which may be one reason she’s not a student at Moony U, and apparently only barely a student at Pitts CC.

How do you know the laundry room isn’t in the basement like most other colleges?I want to know why the window keeps moving.

I think back to when I was a kid complaining that there was nothing to do. My mom would tell me this was the best years of my life. She was right. Mothers usually are.

I’d she lives in a dorm room, she wouldn’t have dishes, she would have a meal plan. All my kids did.

Two words, Bernice – “paper plates”.

So let’s see, Bernice is still letting herself be walked on and apparently stupid enough to wash dishes in a laundry washing machine. Neither want to make new friends because even at separate colleges they only hang out with each other.

Slam dunk writing right here, new adventures in college and nothing has changed.

“I barely have time to study, eat and sleep – let alone hang out with you!” is a not too subtle way of suggesting to Luann that some of us actually work at going to school, and maybe those of us who don’t take higher education very seriously should spend their far-too-abundant free time on their own campuses, and just leave us alone.

I actually tried the opposite on a “no more clean underwear” day when I was in college and lived in an apartment with no washing machine, but with a dishwasher.

Try locking the door to keep out Dez’s friends, girl! Back in the dark ages when I was in college, we could also to some degree control who was allowed in our room, even if they were invited by the roomie. It was all in the handbook/rulebook/whatever.

I understand that a writer named Leo Markum has a book out called “How to Develop Your Sense of Humor.” It’s for sale on Amazon. Give it a try. Might help you understand why a cartoonist might be trying to show how frazzled a character is by having them accidentally wash dishes in a washing machine….

Bernice, life would be a lot slower for you if you changed the lock on your dorm room door. This does two things: a) it gets rid of all those sleeze-bags that are supposedly “Dez’” friends, and b) it allows you plenty of down-time in order to study, so c) you actually have time to both do your dishes and go to the campus laundromat! ;)

“Y’all are kind of like an extended family of sorts…” Yes, I look forward to kibitzing on Luann , too. Got my hub interested in Luann also…there are a few posters here who he thinks are hilarious! You know who you are, and we both get a kick out of you all! ;)

So glad that your son made it home! We need more good men and women, too! My son served in the Navy for five years…he loved it. And, he was fulfilling his duty to his country which made us all proud of him… ;)
