That’s for next year.

Gone is the time of bribing evil spirits to go away so the saints could come visit the next day.

I still remember the first year we warned about razor blades in caramel apples.Some people are just plain sick.

I feel bad for those kids not much too chose from. There are still children go to each home for treats. Though for HS coaches schedule games on Halloween. Our church on a Saturday most prior to Halloween has Autumn Bash children to teens can dress up and have big area of fun and activities. Small bag of candy when leaving. We had one Autumn Bash did fall on Halloween and very big turn out of children. They have a blast and given God’s love.

What I’ve found is that as more adults are outdoing stuff for Halloween no one is left at home for the trick or treaters to menace.

trick or treating is going by the wayside like so many traditions that I can remember. It is a sign of society moving on and redefining “new traditions”. It seems everything from the past 20 plus years is being laughed or embarrased away, and those who enjoyed it are looked upon as dinosaurs. Well, I loved fall. Still do. I loved dressing up in crazy clothes knocking on doors screaming TRICK OR TREAT at the top of my lungs. I’m just glad I was born at a time when these things were part of American society, for children. (heavy sigh for the past).

Actually, that has happened right here where I live. And I remember thirty or so years ago the case where a man in Pasadena, TX put poisoned pixie stix in his own kids bag of treats to collect the insurance money. That was the first such incident of that sort that I can recall.

I’d stay away from Mantydad’s house if I were you.
