Last weekend was our church’s Christmas Pageant (I was one of the directors). We did it as a comedy. For instance, the angels were “Sneaky”, “Flitty” and “Skippy”, and “Mary” gave birth by taking the pillow out from under her costume and flinging it over her shoulder, then “Joseph” pulled the doll from its hiding place, raised it aloft and yelled, “It’s a boy!” It was hilarious, and the kids did a marvelous job. (My daughters were Mary and Flitty.)
It is harder to say, but it must be how she hears it. The word “virgin” doesn’t mean anything to her, and she can’t read, so she doesn’t say it how it’s written. My kids get some interesting pronunciations, too.
