BTW, not just heart attack…There are many ways he could injure himself, swinging an axe…Those muscles are rather rusty from years of disuse…and the axe might be too.

I know no one axed me, but………….

Many years ago, when my wife would fuss at my older son and make him angry, he would go out and chop wood, sometimes for half an hour. In a strange way his character flaws gave him a good physique.

I hope that is camomile Janis is drinking.

I just thought she was cold and was waiting on him to get the firewood for the wood burning stove…

She just knows that if something happened to him, she’d miss the wood. .<ba-dum-tssh!>

I’v always enjoyed cutting firewood. Except for that first time every year. Ouch!

Janis loves him and is worried, nothing wrong with that.

In Arlo’s defense, when doing that type of work, it’s easy to develop a rhythm and forget about the time. .It’s sometimes called getting into the swing of things. – sorry, I just had to put that in -

I don’t believe Janis is worried about Arlo — she is just cold and wants him to hurry up and get the fire going! (Not very plausible — she could put on a heavy sweater.)

And if you use a gasoline powered wood splitter there’s lots of room for taking off a finger or three right there…

…almost did it myself on a few occasions.

Fires have functions more than just for heating.

“So why the hell isn’t the useless woman out there helping? ".She IS helping, she’s staying out of the way while he swings the axe wildly. This also saves him from the distraction of her hotness, thereby making retention of limbs more probable.

Why do you even read comics? You have absolutely no sense of humor. You do realize this is a comic don’t you.

I’ve been chopping wood for almost 40 years and my wife still worries until I’ve put up the splitting maul.I wish she wouldn’t worry but i feel blessed that she does.

I split wood with my hubby, it was a great workout.
