Yup, “This Is It”, written by Mack David and Jerry Livingston, The Bugs Bunny Show theme song (more or less, with a bit of re-arranging).

Something tells me it’s not going to pay to try to blackmail “Mr. Cushing.” Dick Tracy may be present for the murder, or shortly after it. I’m sure there’s a handy place on stage to stash a body, given the theme of the play. :)

Now we will get to see how Gruesome does the finesse version of murder.-——No time for finesse. Just a simple – snap.

…and a shot of a happy Tracy before Monday’s revelation that someone is dead.-—Disagree. I’m sure they’ll find the former janitor on Sunday for the benefit of those Sunday-only readers.

Just a word—yup; that’s about all you have time for, foolish Otis. Why does a puny janitor think he can get away with blackmailing a professional killer?

I feel sorry for the kids that don’t have cable. There you can find plenty of cartoons.

Yes, that’s true, but I think they are lacking the “special” experience I had with cartoons, too. I was glued to the TV every Saturday morning to get my fix and it was an extra special treat only a very few times a year when The Wonderful World of Disney would show cartoons on their Sunday night show. We had no cable or VCRs or DVDs or Netflix or whatever is the most popular thing now. There are just so many cartoons now, that they aren’t as “special” as they used to be.

Who knows? Maybe Otis is a FBI agent. What I am trying to point out is the Joe & Mike love to play with our minds. Just like waiting to the very end to find out who Mr. Crime was.

Oh, Teddy! There’s been another victim of yellow fever. Prepare him a spot in the Panama Canal. .The anticipation mounts as we jostle with the crowd out on the street. All entering the theatre, check your ticket, take your seat. On with the show, this is it!

@Night-Gaunt49I feel sorry for kids…If they have a wireless network and an Internet connection they can buy a streaming unit like Roku. Roku has over 1500 channels. Many are free. And many cartoon channels. Roku unit makes a nice gift. Best unit are about $100. Y’all have a blessed day.

    Now – GREAT EXPECTATIONS ?

YES ! It’s ‘Wake Up’ Scenery today - in panels 2 and 3 ? The ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ title blazoned, then Otis with his symbolic Broom - at the Gate, of the Lion’s Den ? Feeding Time ? Is Action finally HERE?*Some think so, UP from the regular early morning 9 to 12 posts, there’s been quite a JUMP in the Number this Morning (22) and followed with attendant Speculation

And if Gruesome takes action early in next week, it will be 6.66 weeks – to the Crime -, a sure sign of the Devil somehow at work there ?.

So Expectations - Yes ! But unlike in Charles Dickens’ sensational book (above), we haven’t a Mrs. Havisham …. content with the shortcomings of A. A. Stone, YET, we DO seem to have the Former’s Famous CLOCK, and you ‘suspect’ now, it’s ‘located’ at HQ in the MCU section, for like you may have noticed Folks there, aren’t demonstrating moving sounds like ‘TIC TOC’ at the location, and like Mrs. H’s Time Piece, no one at the MCU is seen to lift a working ARM ! It’s Down Time at the MCUNo wish to exaggerate things, but it’s been Personal visits, Small Talk and Frivolity . . .

Good thing Mayor Armstrong hasn’t dropped in, to find out the “Time of Day”, might have noticed the absence of a “Tic” in the working Clock - and a difficult to explain - DILITORY StrategyNo apparent action on outstanding cases, and in the meantime, like ‘Arms Down’ - WAITING for a New Crime to occur ?

And your mind RUNS on Locher’s (2009) Circus story, the famous (unmoving) Pig on Wheels, Tracy Standing in a Circus Ring for near 8 Weeks, and most important, this time, no ‘Ringmaster Ringo’ - around today, to throw his Arms Up in the Air and Yell - “It Happened, IT happened !” - to Arouse the MCU that finally a NEW Major Crime HAD occurred !

No, no. Intro text is the part of the lyrics from The Bugs Bunny Show. All the WB characters would come out and do bits, and at the end they’re all doing a chorus line to “…on with the show. This is IT!” Similar to what was done some thirty(?) years later on the GREAT WB Animaniacs

I have to say, I feel a bit sorry for Gruesome. Here he was about to start a new life as an actor, maybe even hook up with Agate Aggie, and now he’s probably going to end up committing a murder.

I mean, granted, most sane people probably don’t jump to MURDER as their first solution for dealing with a potential squealer, but still.
