There was a psychologist on the radio talking about Black Friday. Said most people know it’s not really worth it to go, but two emotional responses come into play that advertisers exploit. One is the inherent fear that they might miss something, that one good deal – kind of the lottery instinct. The other is the “event” instinct, to be where the action is even if it’s pointless – kind of like NASCAR (sorry, race fans. Just had to).
Laro, who clams to be against racism, has never commented on the killing of Michael Brown. Maybe he is like my great grandmother, my grandmother and my mother all native Mexicans, who were very apposed to racism and blacks.
Not even that outfit could make me venture forth to the malls/stores today. In fact, the place I call home is having a “shop small” day tomorrow…encouraging folks to shop at the “Mom and Pop” stores…which is a good idea….

The aggravation of dealing with the crowds could not be worth any savings. And you can save even more money by buying less stuff.
That crowd of Idians (don’t call them Idiots) looks better behaved that a comparable crowd of Americans, though.

I’m spending Black Friday at a Star Trek convention instead of shopping.

For many years I have achieved the ultimate savings on “Black and Blue Friday” — 100 percent! (I avoid the stores and crowds like the plague)
