Because a hedge has been so effective in keeping YOU guys out of their back yard? (Or their fridges…?)

Icebox?! How old are these critters? (We had a literal icebox, with ice deliveries every few days and a drip pan to empty daily. But then I’m increasingly ancient.)

The knife would have been obsidian, not steel.

“MAY I get a fruit cup.”I think “can” was a suitable choice under the circumstances.

sueamarlucan: My, my, over a hundred years and documented. The invaders had cleared out the natives well before a hundred years ago, and had invaded quite a few countries beyond the North American continent (some by military action, some by forced purchase). Some of mine were included in that disgraceful history, others walked and/or paddled on their own.
