I don’t know. Looks like he has a lot to do. The whole driveway needs to be cleared. What he doesn’t have is work he WANTS to do…

I’ve been retired for a few years now. When I was working full time, I didn’t have time to do anything but mowing the lawn and getting ready for work..Now I have time to do those millions of things that were all I ever really wanted to do….Working sucks if it’s just a job…If it’s something you love? Don’t die…You’re already in heaven…Prosp long and live ‘er…Time is one of the most precious things I’ve ever found on this earth….

When I was younger I met a lady whose husband had retired from the army after 25 years. He’d retired in September. She had a nervous breakdown in November!! She just wasn’t used to him being around. I know how she feels. My husband retired after 20 year back in ‘06. He went straight into a D.A. civilian job doing the same thing, but without the deployments. Over the first 18 years of our marriage we were “together” for only a third of it. Between regular training and then 9/11 it was a given that he’d be gone at least half the year.

I would SO like to have nothing to do! Just long enough to watch the Packers game.

Since I retired I now have time to read these comments, and occasionally write them. I suspect most of the “pros” on this site are retired.

Knew a lady who couldn’t wait for it to snow. She would run out with her snowblower and clean off all the neighbors’ driveways and sidewalks, even the ones of those who were 30 years younger than her.

Is this Wiley’s answer to the Lio strip from a few weeks ago?

There’s a basic law of science that nature abhors a vacuum.Create a space, and nature will fill it.It’s the same with time: if you have free time, nature will come up with something for you to do.The question is whether you want to do it.

Get a computer….then learn how to upgrade it….take a class…soon your garage will be full of everyone’s old computer parts, and you’ll be helping everyone fix their computers. And your wife will always know right where you are.

On Earth or any other planet gravity pulls gases down to the surface and forces them to fill empty spaces. I think of this every time I do dishes and pick up an upside-down glass full of water.

Psychotic OCD rant off. Gotta go wash dishes.

A man who has just retired should not be out shoveling snow. That causes thousands of fatal heart attacks every year. Get a snowblower, or hire a yard service, you’ll live longer.

How many years has it been since you worked until you couldn’t?

When dad took early retirement at 62 1/2 – mom was ready. She handed over the household bills to him. She got his & hers golf clubs. She dragged him out to square dancing and bowling. The only thing he couldn’t handle was figuring out how to budget and pay the household bills. And for 20 years they danced and golfed and bowled. When things started to get too much, they cut back.

I’ve been retired for over sixteen years. I should sort out and give away or throw out stuff from fifty-four years of household accumulations (as my older daughter recently went HINT, HINT! about), but there’s this old lady who’s taken possession of me and would rather read your-all’s comments and make my own. That takes up a goodly proportion of cleanup time.

I’ve just been flagging this dolt. Quick, easy and may end up being his downfall.Je suis Charlie.Boeuf au jus.

i retired 5 years ago worst mistake l ever made now l’m too busy and there aren’t enough hrs in a day . need to go back to work so l can get a rest

Oh man, if I won the Lotto and could retire tomorrow…Home and yard projects, hobbies, reading, education classes, man the days would just be packed!
