The nickname Lizzie was enough to stop my daughter Elizabeth from doing anything anybody wanted her to do! At about the age of 3, she looked sternly at an adult who called her Lizzie and said, “The name is Elizabeth.”
Not “My name,” but “THE name.”
I remember thinking, “So this is what Bogart would look like as a little girl.”
howtheduck, your comment took me back to the Farley’s Passing and Remembering Farley sequences, which I had never seen, and which are profoundly moving. I had a keeshond-mix puppy from age 4 m.o. until 13 1/2 y.o. named Yoda who I credit with saving my life more than once. I still feel his spirit with me, and at the same time, miss him like crazy. Wow, I can’t stop crying. He left this earth nearly two years ago, and I still feel his absence in the depth of my being.
Thanks for the comments about Farley’s passing in the links. I’m not going to be able to look at How’s links. I can’t handle that. I’m in a really bad place with the loss of my own “kids”. I’m glad I read the comments before I looked at them.
Farley is extremely tolerant of the bipedal puppy, probably because he knows she is the favorite of the Alpha that feeds him. But if a neighbor kid was munching out of his bowl, there would be growling and nipping pretty quick.

Yuck is right. But her low-brow tastes will serve her well in college when she has no money. LOL!

Liz is stealing from us senior citizens

Reminds me of my son. We were constantly prying dog food out of his little death grip fists or scooping it out of his mouth.

the best part is Farley’s look. “Hey, that’s MY food!”

Now that’s what I’m talking about. A real slice of life. Not pretty, but real. Hope Elly doesn’t go into her standard hysteria.

i remember a kid who ate good old chuck wagon dog food when she was 3.
she said it tasted just like her grandmas stew but without the yucky veggies

Another excuse for Elly to “go off” on Jon, when he gets home.

Well, she ate. Now she will face the uvula wind storm for it, but, she ate!
She’ll probably scream at poor Farley too.

Maybe that’s where my dogs learned disdain for the food in their bowls in favor of the food on our plates!
