Tonight on stubby finger theater we present a tale of murder and confusion… directed by a twit and starring a has been and a nothing
Tonight’s production brought to you by Hooters, conveniently located in your local police hdqrts .. yes Hooters, for the best in big boobs and fine cuisine.
Now on with tonight’s show….
He actually saved Junior’s life from carbon monoxide poisoning where he had been bound, gagged and placed under a car in your garage by some of your former gang members. And the motor left running. It was a bye product of getting revenge on his men who he tied and placed under the same car. Junior was released unharmed (except for a ‘shut up’ punch) on the other side of town (10-12-37 to 10-29-37)
Not that they would be able to ‘recognize’ him now.The passage of time. And somehow (?), Junior looks like another man’s son. That man lives in Naperville !
The mini sequence above was quite inclusive, in 15 daily strips, it covered the kidnapping, a beating , a rescue, and an across town realease, followed by two murders.
In contrast, you’ll find that one month from now, there will be hardly any change. Just additional, mostly ‘repetative’ (small talk) dialogue. By then the play hasn’t started, not even a REHERSAL had begun !
To use the ‘perspective’ of a former poster here the Author is engaged “in building suspense” … really not a revolutionary concept … it’s ‘easy’ to achieve … by doing nothing !
Relax, attend to other business and come back in one month’s time … you wouldn’t have missed a flicking thing !
Can anybody explain what Tracy’s thought in the third panel means? “The Blank! Good makeup.” WTF?? Does this thought mean Tracy doesn’t really believe this guy is the Blank, but thinks he’s just an actor in blankface makeup? Or what?
Of course, if Tracy thinks the Blank is just an actor playing the character, that raises another question: does Locher believe performers do their first rehearsals in full costume and makeup? Given the way he drew the rock band’s rehearsals in the last storyline, maybe…
When did Dick’s relatives meet Johnny’s? Could it have been Dick’s Uncle Mortimer who stole Johnny’s face (and won’t give it back until he stops biting his nails)?
Poor Johnny … most kids only get their noses stolen … and only temporarily….
totally incomprehensible, badly drawn and a travesty to the memory, quality and legacy of gould. yet i have to read it because each day’s strip is worse than the last. locher must be really laughing at us all the way to the bank.

Johnny Nothing unmasked!

Like yesterday, the third panel has a mysterious cloud in the background. Does Johnny Nothing carry Beano in any of those big pockets?
I’m been waiting for Moon Maid to reappear. Haven’t seen her in a while. They didn’t do something really stupid like blow her up, did they?
