Did a little of BASIC and a bit more FORTRAN. But we also had analog kits that we had to use to show the progress of chemical reactions.

Any one here every write programs in EBCDIC for the IBM mid-range (or minis as we called them) computers? These small (at the time) computers were used in submarines. This was in the early 80s.

I guess I’ll be an oddball here because I still use basic and like it. I have it on both my pad and desktop. It’s still a useful programming language and the modern versions can do pretty much anything that can be done in most other languages.

When I went to an ITT course they used Visual Basic for introduction to computer programing because they still had the books on the shelf; after our group the ‘school’ went quickly through different languages before getting to C++. I am glad to know that that campus closed down; I tell anyone who asks that they would be better off going to the community college course instead of ITT.
