the early equivalent of Madison Avenue is actually where the notion of angles really comes from…

Knew someone who had to send a religious card for every occasion. Abhorred the idea of a funny birthday card.

Don’t react with sarcasm, Hobbes, since Calvin has referred to nothing but imaginary angels, exactly as young kids picture them, wings and harps included.(When still young a friend noticed and kept staring at a calendar that promoted this brand of tires, highlighted by a pic of a next-to-nude in my lodging. The moment I had closed my door behind us, he could not tell me what product was in question).

Absolutely true C&H. And Jesus is in tree bark, on pizza, toast, pancakes, English muffins (pretty much anything round for some reason), grilled cheese sandwiches (cooked and/or baked goods also a favored medium), etc.

Ah yes, “angelmania”. Remember it well. Its proponents conveniently forgot that a large contingent of angels work for the evil side.

Yeah, Madison Avenue damns people for turning their backs on the homeless, the hungry, the naked, the sick. It helps to actually know the material. As for GILGAMESH, it is the farthest thing from a porno novel and, contrary to opinions stating otherwise, Gilgamesh is an historical person not an hysterical one which last can be said of all too many commentators across the web. Anonymity gives courage to cowards. A friend calls you the “annonymice.”

Calvin must be favored by the angels, given all his sledding runs down steep hills and off cliffs and into trees.

It’s hard to escape to the comics when the political idiots of both sides think we want to hear more comments about they hate some political party. I’ve gotta start skipping the comments on all these comics.

Somewhere I have a photo of a dried tea spill on a stove. Half of it was a stylized, modernistic, rounded Madonna and Child. When turned upside down, the other half was Peter Rabbit.

One of the few C&H strips that really reflected the times. Angels were especially represented in 1995.

A few of you think you have the angle on angels, but you are perhaps confused!.I am pretty sure a few angels were released that fateful morning on Sep 11, 2001…

My Mum is a firm believer of angels. Every time she spots a feather on the ground she always says it ‘might’ be from a nearby angel. The angel being a deceased relative.xxx

Nab actually said “gross” not pornographic. Seems like a bunch of you have dirty minds and an intense hatred of religious people. BTW, the Bible is plenty “gross” the way you mean, in lots of places, too. I took his comment at real face value… Just sayin’.You may want to think about working on your reading comprehension skills; here’s the first sentence from Nab’s post: “The ancient porno novel “The Epic of Gilgamesh” mentions them.”

If you’ve seen the angels from Neon Genesis Evangelion, you wouldn’t want to meet one after all.
