Darwinism at work, survival of the fittest. Or at least the ones who are willing to vaccinate.

I just wonder how many anti-vaccinators would risk their children if mandatory vaccinations had not reduced the risk of measles to their current levels

Nope. Some of the hard-right libertarians see vaccines as government overreach.

The only way you can be “right” about opting out is if you have a medical condition that puts you at risk. Vaccination depends upon 95% of the population to be vaccinated to really protect everyone. Hard overwhelming scientific data shows the efficacy of these programs. Anything less starts killing people and that is not “right”. .

Ted, I tried that one out on my otherwise liberal daughter last night…her son has a serious medical reason for not vaccinating, a diagnosis that doesn’t yet have a code number. She provided some “facts” (?) that I haven’t had time to look up, but insisted that the anti vaxers have a constitutional right not to put substances into their bodies…she likened this to being pro-choice. But what happens to her son if some unreasonably unvaccinated kid shows up at school with measles? She insists that more peephole have died from the measles vaccine than from the measles. Sound like Fox News, anyone?

Hmmm…. That is peculiar, as a belief in either point goes along with a heavy duty belief in science!!

Anti-Vaxxer’s are found anywhere there are science deniers. Please, don’t make an intellectual ‘thing’ political as the steaks are to high.
