I almost hate to post anything due to the sheer heart of todays strip, but its Valentines day, and I love these cats and Annie so in due homage to them, I will post what I have for this special day.My wish for you today is full of hugs and chocolate!
Happy Valentines Day from my 10 kitties- Habibi, Azzizi, Mei Li, Li Juan, Pawlie, Kiki,Sasha-Trinity-Addison, Cuddles, Beauregard, and Cosmo (aka Butch Catsidy and the Sundance Kit). Kitty kisses to all cat lovers everywhere.
Queen, Jesse, I am so happy that Hoppy’s adoption is going well. Wet, lovely pics yesterday and today.Marge, sorry to have missed you yesterday, hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s day.
I thought this would be an apt thought for today: “I have given my love to what is worthy of love. Is that not the kingdom and the unperishing spring?” (Ursula K. LeGuin, The Farthest Shore)
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! I am off to a silent retreat for the day. A gift to myself- silence! Lol!-—Finally, the cats see A nie’s true worth. Sweet!Have a lovely day friends. Thank you for this one Graham.
Happy Valentines Day to all! Hoppy slept on my bed, and was right next to me when I woke up. He used the cat box and 3:30 and chatted a little afterwards, then right back on the bed to sleep. He is such a love, and can’t get enough tummy rubs or ear scratchies. I am so lucky to have him!!! THANK YOU QUEEN and RICKI TAVI and GRAHAM!!!! And thank you EVERYONE for all the good wishes and support. I will send pics to Queen today, I promise, so she can post them. A lovely day to all!!!
So sweet! Glad to see all the cats of one mind and appreciating Annie. Very ’love’ly pictures today. jessegooddoggy – what a nice love story for today. Very happy all worked out so well.
For Valentines day here is my oldest cat “Smudge”. She is 20 and I got her on one of my first cat trapping assignments for Forgotten Felines-I love the old girl.
Hoppy is 2 or 3. He has a little “tomcat” face from not being fixed before last week. Queen was concerned about him spraying, but he is faithful to liter box. He is a wonderful kitty, I am so lucky to have him to love.
Today is a good Valentine’s Day – we’ve finally managed to catch a local stray (bad, bad owners, don’t ask) who’s slowly losing fur and the fight to stay alive outside in a northern Maine winter.
Now she can be doctored, neutered, fixed up and found a loving owner who actually cares about her…
Graham, thanks for portraying all TEN CATS today. I know WOOF is silent but I’m sure he too is thinking how much he appreciates Annie. Your scenarios are so touching of how the kitties might be existing today without Annie. BRAVO.
Yes, I was a little worried about Hoppy spraying before he was neutered, but he never did. The week he was getting his meds before he got fixed, his urine was very strong, as it is in un-neutered males. It gradually went away in the week after surgery, tho. He has excellent litter box manners.
kd1sq: I’m so happy to hear that you are taking care of the poor thing. I can just imagine the horrible story – it’s one we deal with every single day here.
If it weren’t for Graham and Ten Cats, Hoppy would not have gone to his wonderful new forever home. What other comic strip could say that?
Brad and I will drive up there at some point to see him.
I am literally in tears! So many wonderful stories, so many wonderful people! Graham, you are a catalyst for love, do you know that? And to all who love cats, you are blessed people!
More cats than sense: I totally agree with you on what he’s thinking. “I make that long road trip without peeing in the carrier and no tuna and cream?? Someone will pay!”
Rikkie Tavi: Smudge is beautiful. I want to kiss her little head.
No, he is just being sweet! Not mad at all! But still a little confused. He is still unsure of Freddog, but no longer hissing and yowling at him. I am giving him lots of quiet time to adjust. I just love him!
And now I must tell my story, think I told part of it some time ago, but the saga continues. It will be wordy, LOL!
We had this stray cat that roamed the neighborhood. 3 years ago, I saw a little grey bundle under our Catalpa Tree. On Fathers Day At first I thought it was a possum, just a ball of gray, hard to tell what it was it was so small. Went to look closer, it was a kitten. Hollered for my son and hubby to come outside. Then called my Vet, on FATHERS DAY he called me back in 10 minutes, first comment to me was “What have you gotten yourself into now”? Long story short, he told me what to. A week later, I find another bundle under the SAME TREE! This one was black. Called the Vet again. He said she must be moving the kittens, leave it there, watch it, make sure nothing gets near it. In the meantime a torrential thunder storm and downpour began so I brought it inside and put it in a little box with a blanket, my son wakes up and hears this little one purring. Asks me what is that?
Well, we now have Little Bit and Blackie! Along with our Girls! What a joy they have been. And the BROS are especially a MIRACLE! Vet says we DONE GOOD! He didn’t think they would survive and told me not to get my “hopes up” so, every time he sees them, he is amazed! Most of the credit goes to my then College Student home for summer son who set his alarm in the middle of the night to get their bottles ready and feed them and take care of “their business”.
Now a year later, Mom Cat has another litter, but THIS TIME she goes into a crevice IN THE CATALPA tree, we can hear then up there, every day and night, meowing then one night the sound stops, Oldest son, who lived about a mile away and his bro who still lived here, decided to get the stepladder out and climb up to the crevice in the tree. There were 3 kittens there, 2 on top, who had expired, and one on the bottom, still alive. Oldest son found the third one on the bottom. He took her, and brought her back to health. Her name is Prynne, She is a BEAUTIFUL cat, with odd markings, and she is actually bigger than her bros born the year beforel Have not seen Mom Cat in a while, don’t know what happened to her but she certainly blessed us! Haven/t had a dog or 2 or 3. LOL since our Charlie Girl passed, and I DO MISS THAT SO MUCH! But you do what you gotta do, right? If my house were bigger I would have a dog or 2!
Dry:Great story, My (then) 4 year old son came home one day with a bag of kittens he found in the middle of the street. 2 had crossed the rainbow bridge, 1 had to be helped over (at the vet’s) and the last one became our beloved Freckles, the children’s very own live toy, companion, dress up partner, and my lap warmer, He lived to 20 and the kids (now approaching 50) sill say he was our best cat!
