Glad we’re getting a break from Bernice’s sarcasm and dislike of Luann, even if it’s only for Sunday…

Uh… was it TJ who proposed the idea of a drive-through car wash at a fast food restaurant?

And the funny thibng is, they now have some places already, where the Filling Station and the restaurant and the car wash are all combined into the same stop. – And, of course, it means that you now can get gas in two different ways…..

I GUESS “Walking IN” and Buying Your Food is Just OUT of the Question, eh, Bradley??

And I thought this was bad: Mobile Gas Station; Drive Thru Car Wash; Subway; Tim Horton Donuts; and Convenience Store. Forgot they also rent Private P.O. Boxes.

I’m pretty sure this is just an idea. Wouldn’t be practical if implemented. First, not everyone would want to put their car through the wash just to get to the window, and the wash as shown would even further limit the size of the cars that could fit through the drive through. I think this strip (Luann as a whole) has to get the most criticism of any other I’ve seen in terms of the readers pointing out real life physics and sociology. Sometimes I wonder if Greg sometimes just likes to throw little things in there once in awhile, just to watch everyone squirm over it. If I had a strip like this, i think I would… :)

Better idea: Learn “patience.”

With a combo restaurant/car wash, employees can dash through the drive thru line- Just in case they…."forget"…. to wash their hands…..

This is why it’s almost always faster to just go inside. Your order is also more likely to be right, and if it’s not, it gets fixed faster.

Was that the nice dealership you posted pics of, the other day? – (items in TJ’s “idea corner”:) LOL! The first two have great facelifts for the price… – And a restroom fixture store/bridal salon? Talk about a _Bridal Shower" ! – I always thought that restaurant was a little too conveniently placed…..

It really is a good idea! I hate drive-thru restaurants though. If they would let me order with a keyboard it would be one thing, but me and the horrible speakers don’t get on.

Once pitched the idea of a laundro-mat with a bar in it to my wife -no go. I thought a Saloon-dro-mat would have been just the thing!

i don’t think impatience is a reason to need anger management classes…

I will go along with that sentiment, been a PRO since I started here in 2008. WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT! 99 cents a month! Can’t beat that! And even if they raise the price, it wouldn’t be by much, and it would still be worth it.

sounds good, some “fast food places” are so slow, that while one waits, one can car wash, do oil changes and than put gasoline and even do brake pads check and tire rotation LOL, but seriously, some restaurants(Dennjys, sizzler and so on) do take more than 30 minutes from ordering till it gets to the table

if I pay 9 cents per month, can I get a grayish dirty oval that says “amateur”? and for one quarter, the grayish oval will be clean and says “Semi-pro”?

If Pitts is in California as most readers assume, a car wash is the last business you want to open. Water is becoming a very rare commodity in Cali.

Clever idea, as long as the driver always remembers to close his window before pulling ahead from “Order here” to “Pick-up here.”

Forgot to mention earlier, but I remember when the KMarts in our area had a sit down cafeteria inside. Used to get the cheeseburger platter there with my grandmother many days, after school….

All over the board this past month. Where will Greg’s compass stop? Without the structure of a high school to bring everyone together, things have gotten a bit scattered.

The Target stores here still have sit – down cafeterias.^Some of the Targets in our area still have one, but the Target closest to where I live had theirs taken out, and now rent it to Starbucks. I guess they feel that “phase 1” of their “Operation Frou Frou” project is a success…..

The closest I could come to that, were some of the stores like Sears with a counter, and Woolworths and a few others….

Growing up, we did the Woolworth’s counter. And I guess your WT Grant was my GC Murphy’s….

Your comments were pretty SNIDE and SNARKY, but I notice your are a PRO! And if you think I am a TROLL I am NOT. I tried to hit a couple of strips that gather the most comments. Lunann has been in my queue since the days of comics.com BEFORE they merged with gocomics. ALWAYS READ IT, don’t often comment.

I can tell you “straight off the bat”, never saw one of those around here. We had High’s dairy/grocery (with a small sit-down), the “obligatory” Dairy Queen, but no Islays…

There was “Stewart’s” (famous for Root Beer) and “Little Tavern” (sort of like White Castle), as well….

It wasn’t a sarcastic comment. It was just a straight out opinion. One shared by a few other posters.
