Machine: "Thank you for your order. Pull forward to pick up"
Brad: "Lookit all the cars in this drive-thru line. This is gonna take forever!"
TJ: "Ooo! Brilliant idea..."
And the funny thibng is, they now have some places already, where the Filling Station and the restaurant and the car wash are all combined into the same stop. â And, of course, it means that you now can get gas in two different waysâŠ..
âRub A Dub GrubââKentucky Fried Car WashââBurgers, Bath And BeyondââWaffle House Of WaxââTaco BuffââFast And Clean FoodââRise And Shine "âTurtle Wax And Chicken NuggetsâorâDo You Want Simonize With That?â
And I thought this was bad: Mobile Gas Station; Drive Thru Car Wash; Subway; Tim Horton Donuts; and Convenience Store. Forgot they also rent Private P.O. Boxes.
Iâm pretty sure this is just an idea. Wouldnât be practical if implemented. First, not everyone would want to put their car through the wash just to get to the window, and the wash as shown would even further limit the size of the cars that could fit through the drive through. I think this strip (Luann as a whole) has to get the most criticism of any other Iâve seen in terms of the readers pointing out real life physics and sociology. Sometimes I wonder if Greg sometimes just likes to throw little things in there once in awhile, just to watch everyone squirm over it. If I had a strip like this, i think I would⊠:)
Was that the nice dealership you posted pics of, the other day? â (items in TJâs âidea cornerâ:) LOL! The first two have great facelifts for the price⊠â And a restroom fixture store/bridal salon? Talk about a _Bridal Shower" ! â I always thought that restaurant was a little too conveniently placedâŠ..
It really is a good idea! I hate drive-thru restaurants though. If they would let me order with a keyboard it would be one thing, but me and the horrible speakers donât get on.
Came across this in my travels from Calvin and Hobbes yesterday:

To all Calvin and Hobbes readers:
GoComics has contacted me this past week, and they have requested that I provide a link to their comic strip archive every time that I post a comic strip here in the future, in order to help them generate more revenue.
I am concerned that GoComics is struggling financially, and I would like to encourage all of you to consider upgrading to a GoComics Pro membership, for 99 cents a month, if you can afford it. It is a real bargain.
By purchasing a Pro membership, you will no longer have to view the pop-up ads on GoComics, and you will receive several other benefits. For a list of the Pro benefits, please click on the link below. To upgrade to a Pro membership, click on the link below and then scroll down to click on âUpgrade Now.â
I would also like to encourage everyone to visit the GoComics archives frequently. Every time you click on a GoComics page, or return to your current GoComics page, or refresh a page, or click on an ad, you are helping GoComics to obtain more advertising revenue.
Thank you very much for your consideration. We all receive a lot of benefit from this site, and we all have a stake in its financial success. Please do as much as you can to help GoComics.
Please feel free to share this information with other GoComics readers who do not post on Calvin and Hobbes.
â Hobbes
I will go along with that sentiment, been a PRO since I started here in 2008. WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT! 99 cents a month! Canât beat that! And even if they raise the price, it wouldnât be by much, and it would still be worth it.
sounds good, some âfast food placesâ are so slow, that while one waits, one can car wash, do oil changes and than put gasoline and even do brake pads check and tire rotation LOL, but seriously, some restaurants(Dennjys, sizzler and so on) do take more than 30 minutes from ordering till it gets to the table
if I pay 9 cents per month, can I get a grayish dirty oval that says âamateurâ? and for one quarter, the grayish oval will be clean and says âSemi-proâ?
Forgot to mention earlier, but I remember when the KMarts in our area had a sit down cafeteria inside. Used to get the cheeseburger platter there with my grandmother many days, after schoolâŠ.
All over the board this past month. Where will Gregâs compass stop? Without the structure of a high school to bring everyone together, things have gotten a bit scattered.
The Target stores here still have sit â down cafeterias.^Some of the Targets in our area still have one, but the Target closest to where I live had theirs taken out, and now rent it to Starbucks. I guess they feel that âphase 1â of their âOperation Frou Frouâ project is a successâŠ..
Your comments were pretty SNIDE and SNARKY, but I notice your are a PRO! And if you think I am a TROLL I am NOT. I tried to hit a couple of strips that gather the most comments. Lunann has been in my queue since the days of comics.com BEFORE they merged with gocomics. ALWAYS READ IT, donât often comment.
I can tell you âstraight off the batâ, never saw one of those around here. We had Highâs dairy/grocery (with a small sit-down), the âobligatoryâ Dairy Queen, but no IslaysâŠ

Uh⊠was it TJ who proposed the idea of a drive-through car wash at a fast food restaurant?

With a combo restaurant/car wash, employees can dash through the drive thru line- Just in case theyâŠ."forget"âŠ. to wash their handsâŠ..
nickel_penny almost 10 years ago
This is why itâs almost always faster to just go inside. Your order is also more likely to be right, and if itâs not, it gets fixed faster.

If Pitts is in California as most readers assume, a car wash is the last business you want to open. Water is becoming a very rare commodity in Cali.

The closest I could come to that, were some of the stores like Sears with a counter, and Woolworths and a few othersâŠ.
