Oh rats! In 1800s New England, it was customary to write a letter to the rats infesting a home asking them to leave! In 1954, an Ohio boy successfully mailed his chilly pet chameleon in a 3 cent, pre-postaged envelope to the Orlando, Florida, Postmaster, with instructions to release it. As of 2015, it is illegal in New York to take a selfie with a tiger or any other big cat.

Okay, I first thought of standing in front of a big-cat exhibit and facing away from them and taking a selfie with them in the background. I never thought of being next to me in the picture ☺ but some are in captivity with their claws and teeth removed? That’s just sad…
