Grumble's If we go in the south doors downstairs, most of the stuff we're here for will be close and we won't see a bunch of the stuff we don't mean to buy. You're heading for the north doors upstairs! That's what you said!
Can women âman shop?â I HATE shopping â I want to get what I need and get out of there as fast as possible. (So I guess I like âbuyingâ better than âshoppingâ?)
If I see a grocery that Iâve been out of awhile, and I like the price, I just make a note of it and intend to buy it the following week, if thereâs no sale on it that ends this week; I focus on the dish ingredients that I intend to use this week, and buy only those. I donât have time to look around department stores and buy on impulse.
Itâs been about a decade, but I remember Sarah Bucket cutting up a credit card in front of Toby, who expected Larry to stop her; Toby liked credit buying. In subsequent strips, Sarah tried to persuade the rest of the family to cut spending, such as getting rid of cable TV. But now look at Larryâs impression of her: Just the reverse.
Groceries are a different trip. I will pick up what I need on the way home. Sometimes thatâs 3-4 times in a week. In and out quick. Then once every couple of weeks â wander, check the sales, ask do I want it? do I need it? will I be out of this in a few days?shopping in places like Grumbels (or the real life equivalent) is fun. Mostly, because its just window shopping. Or spend less than $100)They are going to have SO much fun.

Doc, that sounds more like hunting than shopping (gathering).

This photo is so true ⌠trust me on this. (Except ⌠sometimes, when I go into an electronics store, I can spend hours just âwindow shoppingâ)
