This is the reason I enjoyed this strip from days gone by…their mom (like me) was strict about what movies and TV shows Peter, Paige and Jason watches. A shame what family values have become nowadays.
When I was about 14, my brother and his wife wanted to take me to see “Animal House”. My parents initially said no, but my SIL said, “She’s not going to see anything that she won’t see on her own body.” I went.
I can only remember one time I went to see an “unapproved” movie. I was supposed to see “Painted Desert”, but instead saw “Pork Chop Hill”. Loved it! :-)
kill bill volume 2 was really violent and had harsh language, but there wasn’t really anything you’d see in it that you wouldn’t find in a typical comic book in the early 2000s

You and your big mouth, Peter, for making such a lewd suggestion.

“How dare you see a movie a bunch of old men in their 50s think you’re a few months too young to see! It might warp your fragile little mind!”

This applies to books as well. When I was about 12 and horse crazy, I read “The Red Pony.” That book haunted me for years.

And ten years later, her ten-year-old son (try not to think about that) watches “Game of Thrones.”
