    I think it is unfortunate so many regard Custer as an anti-hero or worse. He was the youngest general at the time, and previous to the infamous Battle at Little Big Horn, he basically served his country honorably, and some estimates say he was out numbered close to 7 to 1 in his last battle..Custer deserves a bit more respect then he is afforded…

    custer erased any respect or honor he had accrued by his conviction of desertion and mistreatment of soldiers and his massacre of the cheyenne at washita creek. he should never have been reinstated. all he deserves now is ridicule.

    There’s a County and its county seat named after him. Of all places it’s in South Dakota at the southern end of the Black hills.That’s adding insult to injury in my opinion.BTW, my family home is in Hill City, SD and I think the Black Hills should be given back to the Lakota Nation.
