The Born Loser by Art & Chip Sansom WHIMPER Gladys: I know it's dinnertime, but I just discovered we're all out of dog food, Kewpie. Gladys: Kewpie needs to be fed, but we're out of dog food. Gladys: Would you go to the neighbors and ask if anyone has some dog food they could spare? Brutus: Okay. Gladys: Did you get some dog food for Kewpie? Brutus: No one had any dog food, but the Goulds gave me some cat food to give Kewpie. Kewpie: Sheesh! I've never been so humiliated in my life!

Our idiot dogs think that cat food is the best thing EVER, which is why we had to put up a gate so the cats could eat in peace.

This is so unrealistic. Most neighborhoods have lots of dogs. And who wouldn’t notice that they ran out of dog food when they EMPTIED the bag?

My dog used to head straight to the cat bowl to eat. The cat would come in, see this, and go to the dog bowl to eat. Mom called the vet about it. He asked if they showed any signs of being ill, especially, if they were hurling. “No,” Mom told him. “Then don’t worry about it,” he told her, “they’re getting what they need.”

My vet said it’s okay for the dog to eat cat food, but the cats need the stuff in the cat food that isn’t in the dog food….
