And that’s the way it works. There are no “quotas” BUT if you don’t write enough tickets you aren’t doing a good job.(Told to me by my sheriff patrolman friend.)

“should be able to make Y number of contacts with violators even if only to give a warning .”.The danger is that some you stop have committed assorted crimes and fear you know and may just decide to kill you or do something which winds up getting him killed.
