Well… it was real, not a dream…and it fulfilled Grandma’s dream…

Good enough for me…and I’m sure Agnes will feel good for a long time about helping…

She might be wistful for an hour, but if Grandma left her enough to take Trout for an ice cream cone, she’ll feel wealthier than ever before…

And then she’ll get on with life, as she always has…and she’ll still have her own dreams intact …and that marvelous resiliency that always carries her through.

I hope Agnes at least got a bonus of $50 or so from Granny.

Agnes will have to demand her 10% finders fee.

Yup, I was right.

The real loser in all of this was the person who tossed out the guitar.

Sobhanilah, The Good God works in mysterious ways.

Honestly this was the best outcome. Grandma NEEDED that money and Agnes did her a huge favor. Let;s hope she can give the kid a break and let her skip folding towels once in a while.

And Agnes did get a harmonica out of the deal. Maybe she’ll do better playing that than she did playing the guitar.

Oh, Agnes, I could just hug the stuffing out of you!!!!

If Gramma left her $10 then she got what she asked for: $10 & a harmonica.

I have seen it happen so often that when we have extra cash I 1. wait for the disaster to occur; 2. no longer rail against fate for having to use the “extra” cash for the disaster; and 3. am just enormously grateful that the “extra” cash was there.

And don’t forget the $1200 they’ll have to pay in tax next year (Grandma, being a Head of Household, appears to be in the 10% bracket)

Has any mention been made of what kind of work Grandma does? I always thought she was retired. Having one’s hours cut is even worse than living on a fixed income. Maybe she’s semi-retired and supplements her income part time. Still wondering what kind of work she does.
