@KZ&1 It was actually James Monroe (not James Madison).Three of the first Four presidents died on July 4th. To me it indicates just how big & important the date was to the founding fathers.

Ok, why am I getting it in spanish now?

I’m seeing this in (Portuguese? – similar to Spanish but not) – can anyone point me to the English language version?

I see it the same in my RSS reader preview and directly on the gocomics.com Web site.

I was wondering what was going on as some of the posters here seem to have understood it. Did it change since those posts were posted? I’m seeing a foreign language and I couldn’t tell what it is.

OK: Why is this strip suddenly in Spanish?

I’m pretty sure it’s Portuguese – I looked up several of the names from the first panel, and they were leaders in Brazil.

I contacted GoComics support about the Portuguese version showing up, and here’s their response:
