Lucy: Why are you staring at your laptop? Danae: I'm writing. Lucy: What are you writing? Danae: A book. Lucy: Cool! What's it about? Danae: Don't know yet. It just needs to be a best-seller and fetch a seven-figure movie deal. Lucy: Hmm...maybe start with a catchy title. Danae: Good idea! Got any suggestions? Lucy: How about,"The cart before the horse"> Danae: Thanks...now I know I don't need a collaborator.

I love a horse offering a book title about ‘cart before the horse’ as a snarky comment on counting one’s best seller chickens before even ‘laying an egg’…

Whatever she writes, Johnny Depp will star in it (if he gets to wear silly make-up).

I like the title – maybe just spice it up a bit. Something like: “The Cart Before the Warg.”

Oh Danae, better look around. You still need a collaborator. Someone with horse sense.

It’ll be interesting to see what Danae comes up with before throwing in the towel on the project. Lucy once again throws the wet blanket of reality on a Danae scheme.

I one decided to write a novel. It started, “It was a dark and stormy night….”
I couldn’t think of a line to follow that, so eventually, I lost interest. Guess just wasn’t cut out for that.

“Not all great readers are good writers, but all great writers are good readers.” – my junior year English teacher—so by that logic, Danae is already doomed. When was the last time she read anything of substance?

Somebody suggested she try horror. How about Inside Danae’s Mind? Agoraphobia, anthropophobia, alethephobia (Fear of the outside, fear of people, fear of truth)… She could compete with unwitting horror writer Ayn Rand, who actually did write some two-dimensional movie scripts. Or maybe not. Danae does not inspire horror in anyone who knows her at home, in the neighborhood, or in school. Irritation, yes; pity, definitely.
Every novel is Inside the Writer’s Mind, of course. It is just roomier, better lit, and better decorated inside the better writers’ minds.

She needs to change her last name to Kardashian if she wants to write a book without putting effort into it.

Aside from which that title is already taken. :-)
