It just isn’t breakfast without a bowl of sugar.

True, but back then not too many people were aware of how unhealthy sugar is. It was thought to cause this sort of hyperactivity or sugar high that Calvin is suffering from. But as far as I know that is a fallacy.

White bread smeared with a lot of butter then sprinkled with a dandy layer of brown sugar. They were tasty.

Maybe Mom shouldn’t limit Calvin’s sugar intake. It could be what makes him so sweet.

Calvin should learn to put more cereal on his sugar.

But when we were kids we were sent outside to run and play it out of our system. Today they eat a bowl of sugar and go play video games. But so do a lot of adults.

Have you ever been to Vacation Bible School where cookies and Kool-Aid with sugar were served for snack? The crash for me when all the sugar wore off was awful!

Why does this strip remind me so much of the film “Alvin and the Chipmunks” when Dave shouts: “Aaaaaaalvinnnnnn!”

“However that addiction to sugar is real.”

So true. In fact, carbs in general, like breads, cereals, and popcorn are addictive and oh so fattening.
