Looks to me like Arlo is not happy about Janis on the smart phone, while they are out to eat and should be concentrating on each other and the meal. Wife and I have an agreement to turn phoneâs off when we are out, as it is âjust our timeâ and out of respect for each other, beleive that is the most important thing in our life
I agree that scanning social media while at the dinner table is rude to all present, but Iâve found that banning the phone altogether is also not the best idea.I find that, while in casual conversation, I will need to look up something (fact-check, or just to help remember something) in order to contribute intelligently to the conversation. A quick Google search can be beneficial in this case. But it does require a lot of will power to just find what you need and then put the phone back in your pocket.
Sofa? Iâm pretty sure no one except Americans say âsofaâ. And I think most of them are Eastenders. Where are Arlo and Janis supposed to be living? Just wondering.
Gotta go with xkcd here (https://xkcd.com/1170/):If all my friends jumped off a bridge, I would probably, too. Think about it â Which scenario is more likely:Every single person I know, many of them levelheaded and afraid of heights, abruptly went crazy at exactly the same timeâŠâŠor the bridge is on fire?Imagine reading this on CNN: âMany fled their vehicles and jumped from the bridge. Those who stayed behindâŠ.âIs something good about to happen to those people? You stay. Iâm jumping.
We tried that on our daughter: If your (older) brother jumped off the roof, would you too?" She considered it briefly, figuring he couldnât get hurt that badly on one story, and said âyes.â

What, he thinks heâs going to have to buy a couch now?

If everyone else were like Arlo, the economy would be in a shambles, what with people only buying what they actually need.

Janis said âtheirâ, as in âmore than oneâ. Did I miss where it was stated that Robin had a partner or child of some type?

Whatâs with the third panel? Arlo looks like a ghost is leaving his body.
locake over 9 years ago
He should just take a quick look at the photo and change the topic. Acknowledge what Janis said but move on.

OK, whoâs ghosting the strip? Or is someone re-lettering the panels, like in the Chicago Sun-Times?

Gramâma said chesterfield. Everyone I know says couch. Davenport? Wow! That goes back a waysâŠ.
