Last rites from a female chaplain? Any Catholics tell us if that even counts?

The specialist has probably been driving the Captain around for six months.

Chaplains rock, no matter what gender

This arc could be rough.

The Episcopalians have female clergy and practice “Last Rites”. But it does not matter what denomination she is, as a Chaplain, if she performs Last Rites for a Catholic, it counts.

And, yes, this could be a very rough arc.

However, I bet it won’t generate the kind of sour comments that the last few have done!

I really admire this chaplain. She seems to embody the way a chaplain ought to be. I expect no satirizing of her (and I hope I don’t turn out to be wrong).

I think this chaplain is safe from satirizing. She’s clearly a voice of reason in unreasonable times and situations.

chaplains are really multi-denominational. when there’s only one man of God around. he/she must know all rites.catholic.,jewish, muslim.

There was a scene in the movie Battleground, where a chaplain asked a Jewish soldier in the 101st Airborne how did he do when performing a Shabbat for the troops in the field.

I get the DOD casreps, stebon. I even read them.

Obviously another dead soldier is not even a blip on your personal radar screen.

I am a non-theist and I have boundless respect for chaplains.

Except for those that proselytize and seek converts. For those I have contempt.

I am a chaplain and it is the most wonderful opportunity and blessing I could have. It is a real privilege to be allowed into peoples’ lives at times of deep distress. It humbles you. You come away from the encounter often having received more than you give. Of course there is that x factor: GOD. He always seems to turn up, and I am thankful for that!

My brother is a chaplain in the Canadian Air Force. It was his duty when posted in Gagetown to accompany a senior officer and his assistant when visiting a family to announce their loved one was killed overseas. He would stay behind with the family to offer moral support .

I tell anyone who’ll listen that I just don’t have the heart or the guts to do that kind of job.

“Joe, you wouldn’t believe the cussing and filthy language the chaplains use when only staff is in the building.”

From Chaplains…? What do you think they are… Human?!?
