Brad: "I'm proud of you for trying new things, dad, I really am. Like this mud run - even the warehouse thing"
Brad: "But....just be sure you know what you're getting into, ok?"
Dad: "I'm over here"
Eh, poor Bert! That’s proably why they told him not to leave too far from “The Street”.. – If that was Nancy, and Frank had mixed her up with someone else, she’d probably not take too kindly to that…. – Maybe just a good time to “hit up” ol’ Sonny Boy for a “cold one” !!!! (8^ b) – How would Brad be able to be sure if that’s Frank or not? Best place to probably start is his wallet…
Unless …. Frank found that guy, and had him for a stunt double… no wonder Frank was “playing it up” with all the “grunts” and “Rocky-like triumphant poses”, and all….
“The Duel Of Duals”“Field Of Screams”“Easy As A Mud Pie”“Send In The Clones”“No Taxation Without Replication”“Putting The Duped In Duplicate”“The Trouble With Doubles”“A Minnesota Moment”“Parallels In A Park”“All’s Swelled Or Ends Up Swelled”“Ice Packs On Parade”or“An Unreasonable Facsimile”
Although I agree that the warehouse idea is stupid, if everyone who wanted to start a business gave up because someone called their idea stupid there wouldn’t be any businesses at all.
8Ha! IMO, this was the best Luann comic in the last three weeks….. through the entire Warehouse and MudRun arcs. These two story arcs generally were IMO quite weak (Mostly because Frank was acting rather foolishly about the warehouse, AND because Frank was being cast in the stereotypical “Dopey Dad” role during the whole mud run escapade.) However, today was a bright glimmer of fun and humor, and was UNEXPECTED as well. Very nice. I am hoping Saturday will be similar…. and then (fingers crossed) onto a different story arc next week!
This one really made me laugh out loud! It reminds me of the time when I was five or six years old and I was with mom and dad at a school thing where they go to the classroom and see the work we’ve done. What were those called? Anyways, I reached up and grabbed my dad’s hand and said “Daddy,” and started to tell him something. Then I looked up and it was some stranger’s hand I was holding! I turned beet red and felt the most incredibly embarrassed that I have ever felt in all my life!
Maybe being bogged down in the mud is a metaphor for a cartoonist’s block. Last year Gunther and Rosa were flying to Peru and going up into the mountains…..this year the characters are ground bound and stuck in the mud.
I’m sorry to be disagreeable, but the strips for the food truck are not that clear on that, and were drawn so as not to “give away” anything, but to be ambiguous in their interpretation…
Also sorry to be disagreeable, but it isn’t a “fringe/conspiracy” sort of thing. It is quite possible and fits in with his past dealings. The fact that he was awarded the settlement, in itself does not guarantee his innocence. In fact, both Brad and Toni pointed out to Shannon that TJ “makes up stories, sometimes” (a quote from Toni)….
LOL, think of all the dried mud as a “cheap” way for Mr. Evans to finally give them the mud pack beauty treatment they were demanding, as part of their contracts…
No, true, you’re right, of course!!! – Plus, Greg and Karen seem to appreciate the different discussions, as a sign of their effectiveness! – And I didn’t mean to sound facetious or “Stepford-ish”, I just wanted to “chime in” on the subject in as amicable way as possible, since it would seem that the “divide” on the whole matter of the “Cab-Louie” is almost to the point of “Deflate-gate” (well, maybe not quite like that has become!).

Ok, maybe the big trauma before the Brad and Toni wedding is that Brad turns out to need eye surgery?
JayBluE over 9 years ago
Or if not that, Have you ever tried to duct tape your shirt on? (“Gasp!!! I told you, it’d still fit!!!!!”)
JayBluE over 9 years ago
Welll, at least you didn’t duct the question! – Way to chime in, with bellbottoms, by the way….

“Left you one late last night.”*JPW – Yep, it does look like Brad saw clearly he was walkiing on air. No wonder he has “mud in his eye” today.

It isn’t about the Warehouse making money, it’s about a way to keep all the main characters in the home town and in the comic strip.

LOL, back then, more people fell into the “Gap” than those getting “Shanghaied” by the “Old Navy”…
