Yes,it would have been nice if they had gotten him a chair, too, but the guy has to like that they appreciate his car so much.

Those were great cars. Never road in a convertible, but drove one in the late 70’s. Used to call it a land-yacht.

War – Lowrider

Beautiful pictures and comments on a 1959 Impala. The 1960 did not have the hood vents and teardrop signal lights.

It may be a 1960, but when I was a kid, we had a 1959 and that looks like a 1959.

Definitely a ‘59. The ’60 didn’t have those scoop looking things at the front of the hood.

Dad had a ’59 Impala, that one was a real lemon though. My first car was a black ’64 Impala 283; that was a great car.

The front end is a ’59.

Great, but the ’57 still tops my list.

We let our younger daughter use our ‘77 Impala (not a convertible) when she drive to the University of North Texas in Denton. On the way back from Dallas, after she’d visited a cat shop (nothing naughty, real cats [she loved cats]) to celebrate taking her last final of the semester, a pickup truck in the lane next to her hit a truck tire that was lying on the road, and bounced up onto her hood! Both cars plowed into a bridge railing. The Impala was totaled, but no one was injured. Though the Impala wasn’t all red and tricked up, I loved that car. However, I was duly thankful that it was the car that was toast and not our daughter.

Yeah, that’s definitely a ’59 front end ! Damned near impaled myself on the rear driver side fin delivering my papers ’cause I was trying to get away from a dog that was chasing me. Not looking where I was going !!!

Loved the ’60 impala. My dad had a black sedan with the white and black herringbone interior.

That’s a 59 Impala!

You can have the ’59 and ’60 models, I prefer the ’64 or the ’57. Never liked those huge sideways fins.
