Years ago a friend was told by his doctor to eat his dessert first. He loved pie and he did. You always have room for dessert but you probably won’t finish a meal!
At a restaurant, people usually decline dessert. However, when you go to a fast food place, you buy all your food at once and then feel compelled to eat it all.
Eating a variety of things decreases the “full” feeling because you body doesn’t need too much of one thing. Imagine eating a lot of dry bread, then being offered butter to put on the bread. The differences in texture & flavor increase your ability to eat more.

There’s ALWAYS room for Jell-o!
(And Ice Cream, it melts and runs down into the cracks in-between the Dinner stuff.)

Actually, it’s been shown scientifically that the body adjusts for sweets, even when full otherwise. The Japanese call it “your other stomach.”

I suppose you eat desserts whole.

Not for me, I almost never eat dessert when I go out. When I eat it at home, it has to be at least an hour after dinner!

So true.

I very rarely eat dessert right after dinner. Usually because I’ve eaten my fill during the meal.

I rarely eat desserts either, unless of course, it’s Jello; after all, “There’s always room for Jello!”

Stomach compartmentalization. Broccoli compartment is the size of a thimble. Cake compartment is the size of a bucket.

Still wondering if it’s worth getting banned from GoComics to give your sanctimonious comment the reply it deserves…
