It does, doesn’t it. That the problem with synopsis, you don’t deal with the details… like Mom doing all the home cleaning, home cooking, home shopping as she’s been doing since the last vacations.
Larry, you didn’t. After that lovely, affectionate moment of (almost) having the same vacation idea, you DIDN’T tell her your actual idea once you knew she was thinking Alaska! After X years and two boys, have you learned nothing?
A man’s idea of vaction is to have the same work done by the woman in the relationship and relocate it to a cheap location. The only thing worse than having to sit at a lakeside retreat and referee two sibs who now have deep water to drown each other in is to have the man come home after a day of fishing and hand the catch over to you and tell you to clean it and cook it…
