There are fireworks going off a few streets over from me. My dog just dived under my chair and is shaking so hard it feels like I’m sitting on a washing machine in the spin cycle. Buttheads!!

I just heard a humongous whump. And there is the crickle crickle, We are planning on turning on the water every night about 8:30pm. The woods behind us are so dry. It was 94 today and there is a heat advisory for tomorrow.

A belated happy happy anniversary to Queen and hubby!!

I had a few extra minutes before an appointment yesterday so I finally dropped by our brand new county animal shelter (no kill, with a few empty cages!). There is a beautiful very friendly siamese mix with extraordinary personality and loud purrs, at least 6 years old, who will become available Sunday and I really want to adopt her (Ruby). Her owner of 5 years gave her up because her new boyfriend is allergic!!!!!! Stupid stupid woman did not deserve this loving cat!!

@GweedoGrandson’s brother-in-law is a shift manager at this family-run restaurant. I like your idea of having a meal there and thanking the owner and whoever switched shifts with Sean so he can come to the wedding (if he can come, I haven’t heard back yet).

@QueenofAmericaHappy Anniversary, one day late. Yum Yum and 2 squirrels are chittering at each other this morning.

@poppet bearTemperature slowly working its way into the mid-twenties and the 11th should be a nice day, according to the weather network.

Yes July 4th is upon us. After a lightening strike very close to the dog and I a couple months ago, thunderstorms and fireworks are causing severe panic attacks in him and he already takes Prozac. I called in a new prescription for Xanax for him this morning so we can get through the weekend. Poor guy already has a hole in his heart and I don’t want him having a heart attack because of noise. Between the forecast this weekend for thunder storms all weekend starting today and people who will light off fireworks no matter what. It will be rough for him. Hope everyone else who has a furry loved one who doesn’t like the noise gets through the weekend with a minimum of fuss.

These strips drored by Oliver are hilarious!I hated it when my old pups grew deaf EXCEPT on the 4th. Then it was a great blessing. They finally got through the holiday without trauma.

Adoptions today: my little grey girl. One of my black males. A black female from another foster mom. She is going on vacation so I brought her other 2 home to keep my last little guy company. So far I’ve heard a lot of hissing and growling in there so I went in to see what was gong on. Nothing much except one of the new ones thinks he’s the boss. He is wrong. They’re all the same age so no damage can be done. Now, they are all asleep at last.

Some guy moved and left his 2 huge cats behind and alone. Declawed, fixed, etc. Luckily his sister found them and took them to the shelter. One was at PetCO today and MIGHT get adopted tomorrow by somebody I play bunco with. She sent pictures to her daughter in Salt Lake City.

It helps (with fear of fireworks noise)…to keep music or tv going; a little louder than usual.
